Xerxes still keeps his ritual of watching the world with meditative focus, these days from a window looking out over the Minneapolis skyline, and he starts and ends his days in the same unhurried stillness he learned on the deck overlooking Chisago Lake. Ducks gliding across the water have given way to lights coming on across the city, but the practice is the same. It's as if he knows he's modeling the peace he hopes others can find here too.
